Barber: Welcome once again to Dodger Talk. Today in the studio we have newcomer Luke Easter. He started a bit slow but is really coming on now. Welcome to Dodger Talk Luke.
Easter: Thank you very much. I'm very happy to be here.
Barber: In this past week you went 12 for 27, 4 home runs, 10 RBI's and 7 runs scored. Are you feeling comfortable now?
Easter: Yes, I'm feeling comfortable both at the plate and in the majors. The first few weeks I let some of the taunts get to me and I was just nervous like any rookie. But now I'm starting to feel more accepted and I'm really seeing the ball well and just hitting it. Hopefully I can keep doing this. It feels really good to contribute.
Barber: I hear you're quite the card shark. Been playing any in the clubhouse?
Easter: Yes, just yesterday I got invited to my first game by Pee Wee.
Barber: Did you win?
Easter: Sure, but hopefully they'll let me play again.
Barber: Ed Stevens played first last season. How is your relationship with him?
Easter: Not bad, I can't say that we're best friends but he hasn't said anything bad to me. I'm sure he's frustrated by his lack of playing time this year but I'm sure things will improve.
Barber: Speaking of improving, the team has won 6 of their last 9 games but is still 7 games behing Chicago. It seems very similar to the poor start last year.
Easter: I wasn't here last year so I'm not too concerned about that. I know the team came on strong in the summer months last year and I don't see any reason we can't do the same now. It's time to start playing better ball and I think we are and I'm confident we'll be there in the end.
Barber: I'm sure you will. Thank you for stopping in and we'll see everyone next time on Dodger Talk.
